Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences (LUMHS) was established as Sindh Medical School in 1881, later named as Liaquat Medical College (LMC) in 1951. It was upgraded as first public sector medical University in Pakistan in 2001. It has a rich history of academic excellence of over 140 years. During this time it has made a significant and unparalleled contribution to the society in terms of healthcare.
The main aim of our University is to enlighten our students with the best knowledge, thus making them torchbearers of outstanding health care. I strongly believe that the more rooted we are, the stronger we grow in life. The Alumni is a strong force that binds us with our roots of wisdom.
